The Crown Jewel Of The Amalfi Coast, Borgo Santandrea Reopens Its Doors On The April 16th For The 2025 Season

March 2025 – On the Amalfi Coast cliffside, overlooking the centuries-old fishing village of Conca dei Marini, the exquisite Borgo Santandrea will reopen for the 2025 season on April 16th. This year, the property is excited to introduce three new luxury boats to its iconic Borgo fleet, allowing guests to escape the crowds and arrive in style, directly from Salerno and Naples via sea.
Borgo Santandrea is co-owned and run by the Orlacchio and De Siano families. A design masterpiece and an ode to its 1960s origin, the two families ensured local Amalfi and Campania craftsmanship were at the forefront of its redesign in 2021. Spanning multiple terraces, Borgo Santandrea is home to 52 rooms and suites, including the iconic, newly renovated Suite 801, and it’s the only hotel in Amalfi with a private beach and a suitably chic Marinella Beach Club. The impressive culinary offerings include Alici, which has just received its first Michelin Star, Marinella Restaurant and Beach Club, Il Plumbago bar, which is situated at the highest point of Borgo Santandrea, and a wine cellar – each generous in size and spread throughout the vertical property.
A MASTERCLASS IN IMITABLE, MEDITERRANEAN STYLE
INCLUDING THE EXQUISITE SUITE 801
Inspired by the building’s origins, the owners of Borgo Santandrea set out to create a property that would evoke the spirit of the sixties in every detail, while also creating an expression of accessible and sustainable architecture. The interiors embrace the iconic blue and white Amalfi palette, seen in the famed collection of handmade Ponti-inspired tiles throughout the hotel and terraced property – many of which pay homage to the ancestral geometry found in Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Last year, Borgo Santandrea unveiled three new suites, including the exceptional Suite 801. Spacious, and sleek with an expansive private terrace, private plunge pool, and phenomenal panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Suite 801 was a two-year, meticulous passion project, in which vintage pieces from antique fairs and expert dealers in Portugal, Copenhagen, and Milan, were methodically hand selected. Guests will find vintage ceiling lamps, a beautiful antique bookshelf unit filled with modern coffee table books, a sofa designed by Ettore Sottsass’s furniture company Poltronovo, which was deemed by some as the most daring in 20th-century Italian design, and distinctive Gio Ponti armchairs. The handmade and glazed ceramic floor is a tailor-made tile recreation of an original Ponti carpet, modernised and brought to life by the skilled craftsmen at Cottovietri. The en-suite bathroom offers ample space for two, with a spectacular bathtub positioned beneath arched windows, allowing guests to soak in ultimate relaxation while enjoying panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast.
A RICH BOTANICAL HERITAGE
 A BRAND-NEW ROOFTOP GARDEN & ORCHARD
Borgo Santandrea’s dedication to sustainability and local craftsmanship extends beyond its walls – evident through the property’s stunning vertical gardens. These verdant spaces celebrate the rich botanical heritage of the region, including fragrant jasmine and Myrtus communis, some over 150 years old. Borgo Santandrea’s Hotel Manager, Tano Amato has a passion for horticulture that is truly innate and deeply rooted in tradition as a third-generation landscaper from Ravello and in turn brings invaluable local knowledge and enthusiasm to Borgo’s ever-evolving gardens as they continue to flourish.
With landscaping an integral part of Borgo Santandrea, the 2025 season will see the unveiling of a brand new rooftop terrace above the Marinella Beach Club – a breathtaking space filled with olives, spices, and herbs to be hired for private dinners, events and celebrations overlooking the sea. Recent landscaping efforts have also seen the addition of fresh soil to create an orchard, and guests are encouraged to pick ripened fruits such as lemons, oranges, apricots, pomegranates, blueberries, and strawberries at leisure, as if the garden was their own.
THE ICONIC BORGO FLEET
Borgo’s iconic fleet of boats include the spacious PARDO 50 (15m x 50 ft.), SAXDOR 320 (10.28m x 35ft), and GOZZO. With Borgo’s private dock, these exclusive boats allow for a seamless and scenic transfer from both Naples and Salerno direct to Borgo Santandrea’s beach club. Salerno’s train station, and the new airport, Salerno Costa d’Amalfi, are most easily accessible, just 35 minutes by boat, with a journey that showcases the more unexplored areas of this iconic coastline. The fleet of boats also allows guests to avoid the crowds and often-congested, winding cliffside roads leading to the property. Instead, travelers can sit back and enjoy a breathtaking journey across the shimmering Mediterranean, arriving at Borgo Santandrea in ultimate comfort and style, and with the same level of service found at the hotel.
Whilst on property, private boat and sunset tours can also be organized to popular local hotspots or lesser known hidden gems. Whether it be visiting Naples and Pompeii to hike unexplored paths, sailing to the islands of Capri, or Ischia, or dining in Amalfi or Positano, Borgo Santandrea is the perfect base from which to explore all that the celebrated coastline has to offer.
